No Need To Spend More… Epson PowerLite Cinema 200 LCD Projector

I previously owned the Sharp XVZ-200U , and upgraded to this unit. I paid $1850 for this unit at Ultimate Electronics on 2/06. I got an extended warranty for $399 that extends the warranty to 4 years, including 2 lamp replacements. After some research online, each replacement bulb costs about $650! If you can, get a warranty that covers the bulb.

Awesome! Optoma EP719 DLP Projector

Okay, a few guidelines here. You will not get your best picture with a regular yellow RCA cable. You won’t even get it with S-Video or component video. To really make this baby shine like it can, you need to get a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor and an HDMI cable to your DVD player OR get a VGA cable output from your media player (XBOX 360 offers one for about $40, and that’s what I’m using on my system now). Also, you want to get a screen. Projecting on the wall is okay, but you won’t get nearly the picture quality you would on a smooth, white surface. You can spend $1,500 on a home theatre screen or you can go to Home Depot and pick up a 4×8 sheet of white vinyl covered paperboard for $15 (I’m not sure what it’s really used for so asking might not help, but it should be near the plywood). They’ll even cut it to size for you for a few more dollars. it’s a great screen because it’s almost completely smooth (it has a very fine texture which keeps it non-reflective-that’s good) and you can wipe it down with a damp cloth if it gets dirty.

Great Picture Bulb burned out at 200 hours InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 LCD Projector

I’ve had the projector for a bit over a year (Yes, out of warranty of course). One day, the bulb just quit working. InFocus said it prob. wasn’t the bulb.

Sent it to them (375 bucks “flat rate” for “major” repair). They call me after they have it to tell me it’s the bulb after all (yes, just over 200 hours on the bulb verified by the tech). When I asked what would cause a bulb that’s supposed to last for 2000 hours, to cause it to burn out, they recommend that I buy their “bulb warranty” to extend the warranty on the new bulb they will sell me for over 400 bucks, plus 150 bucks to put it in. Never have gotten a reason as to why the thing burned out so fast.

Customer service is HORRIBLE. Could not connect me to a supervisor when requested. Tried over and over again to sell me extended service contracts. Customer Service reps didn’t seem to listen or understand the issue.

I will not be buying another InFocus product, not because of the product itself (which, is of questionable quality) but because of the terrible customer service after the fact. I was willing to pay for a “major repair” but when they add hundreds more to the “flat rate” repair, I get grumpy.

Great Projector for home or on the go! Optoma MovieTime DV10 DLP Projector

After living in our home for three years now I finally convinced my wife that we should experiment with putting together a home theater. Since she was basically opposed to the idea, my budget had to stay small (under $1000) and after a fair amount of research, I decided to order the DV-10 “Movietime” by Optoma.

I found a bundle deal on-line for the projector and a 106″ roll-down screen for $999. This was perfect for my budget and so after a couple of days of waiting on delivery my new equipment arrived.

The 3in1 is just a dust trap in my house. 3M X75 LCD Projector

As a writer, I use a printer, and copier a lot. This is why I chose a Lexmark All in One for a Christmas Gift this past Christmas.

The first thing that dissapointed me was that the printer came without a cable. I wanted to use it right then, so I went to Wal-Mart to buy the cable that it reccomended.

We got it hooked up and scanned and printed a few things to test it out. It worked great until the next morning. We started up the computer and in the bottom right corner of the screen it showed a big X on the printer’s icon.

Lexmark all in one printer 3M X75 LCD Projector

We bought this to replace our old and worn out Canon S200.

Simply took the printer out of the box remove packaging and installed the cartridges, connected to the PC powered up andwithin 5 minutes we were up and running.

This printer prints at 2400×1200 dpi giving photo quality prints although it can be a little slow when printing in colour.

The lexmark all in one software is extremely easy to use for copying, scanning etc. But it is also very helpful if you every need help with technical problems.

Great value but you’ll need higher quality sources Panasonic PTAX200U Projector

Whew - was my first reaction of relief after I took delivery of my brand new Panasonic PT-AX200U projector in November. It came shipped in plenty of protective packaging and I was excited to finally see it come in. The projector comes with a special locking kit to lock it to your (sold separately).

After a good month and a half of letting the bulb burn in and trying all kinds of different configurations, I felt comfortable sharing my experiences.

nice home theatre Hitachi CPS225WT LCD Projector

My roomate and i recently baught this and so far i have had no problems with it. But with any projector or home theatre system the sound and picture quality have alot to do with the wires that you are using. S-Video has the best picture so we use the S-vid cord for most of our electronics such as the DVD player and PS2 unfortunately Sega Dreamcast doesnt have s-vid, we might actually play it once in a while. Component video cords are nice if you buy the expensive ones.

A bargain, not a miracle InFocus IN72 DLP Projector

I picked this projector up at www.woot.com for $405 after a mail-in rebate for $200 (which took several months to receive.) I needed a monitor for occasional use associated with presentations and movies (outdoors and indoors.)

I was worried by the initial specs on this unit, as I had never purchased a projector before, and knew that the general rule I had heard was: “you get what you pay for” in terms of being able to use it in normal lighting conditions, etc. I have used several different projectors over the past few years, and the brightness and contrast of the image projected does seem to vary quite a bit from projector to projector.

An excellent home theater projector Sanyo PLVZ4 LCD Projector

I bought the Sanyo PLV-Z4 projector as the main part of my newly installed home theater system. I chose the Sanyo after weeks of online research where I seriously considered the Optoma and Panasonic projectors. I chose the Sanyo because of its 7000:1 contrast ratio, free bulb and screen offer, as well as the longer warranty. Another excellent feature of the Sanyo is the horizontal and vertical lens shift, which helps to create an excellent image on the screen.
